Contest Details

The Contest for Naming Rights has two categories: The Best-Dressed Team and The Apartment Design.

The Best Dressed Team Category: Every student in the class must have a customized avatar (no grey striped shirts and jeans/ no pink polka dot dresses). The teacher will take a class photo, which will be a screen shot of the avatars in some scenic location in 3D World. A special guest judge will be selected to pick the best photograph.

The Apartment Design Category: Every pair of roommates will have to purchase and place furniture and posters in their apartment. During “Lesson 20 – Open House…Meet the Neighbors” (April 30, 2015), a special guest judge, who specializes in interior design, will join us in 3D World to visit the apartments. The judge will decide which apartment wins the award for the best design.

The class that wins in each category will get to choose a name for a special place in 3D World.

Contest for Naming Rights

We will be planing a competition in 3D World, winner of said competition to earn Naming Rights for the streets around what is now called Coffina Circle. Impress your friends by having a street (or is it a circle?) named after you (or your class). Details on the competition to follow.

Shopping Simulation for iPad

Just in time for our next unit on working, there is a new app out that simulates a real grocery store shopping trip. Storest app simulates the shopping experience, complete with choosing items, paying out the cash register, and the best part? Print out the grocery store items, then use the the iPad’s built-in camera as a cash register’s bar-code scanner. Just like the real machines. Well worth the $2.99 price.

3D World Enters Another Year

Welcome to our website for 3D World – District 75’s cutting edge program to teach communication and life skills using a virtual, 3D environment. For the 2014-2015 school year, we are entering our seventh time doing this program, and we think it has gotten better every year.

If you are a teacher or student in the program, this website is designed to provide you with the information and knowledge you need to fully participate each week. Please use the password provided at the professional development day to access all the resources.
